Operational Plans

Being careful not to reinvent the wheel with councils who already had the basis of a compliant plan, our team examined and validated links between their most recent corporate plan and the latest draft operational plan. Where necessary we assisted key managers in developing greater clarity in describing programs, functions and activities to be tracked through the plan.

Importantly we assisted in the identification and development of key performance indicators and targets for each of the activity areas, together with designing the reporting framework to underpin regular quarterly updates to Council on performance against plan.

Each of these clients achieved a compliant, integrated and practical operational plan clearly aligned to both their corporate plan outcomes and annual budget allocations. The links to organisational management structure then permitted clarity of responsibility for reporting and the opportunity to associate the operational plan outcomes with the Council’s management performance measurement and accountability processes.
